Creative Chaos Crafts

About the Creative Chaos Society

The Creative Chaos Society is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. Months of time, planning and energy are spent year round to produce this annual event. The original intention of the founding members was to allow the public access to all styles of arts and crafts. You are an integral part of the show and the final judge and jury.

Creative Chaos began in 1971 as a two day art exhibition of porcelain and ceramics and was held at the Vernon Recreation Centre in the auditorium. The following year it expanded to three days and included food, demonstrations of weaving, arts, pottery, dance and singing. Local schools were approached to display their artwork (See Community Service).

In 1975 the Creative Chaos logo was designed by the Vernon Senior Secondary art class and the sale expanded into it’s second building in the Curling Rink. Now it was an official Show and Sale.

1995 was the 20th anniversary, Creative Chaos grew once more to include the Priest Valley Arena. 2015 Creative Chaos celebrated it’s 40th anniversary! Each year it changes and evolves; new vendors join while many others return year after year.
